The explanations that follow in this continuation of the text-grammar dossier are always expanding on the subject areas of the basic dossier. Sometimes new, but by no means completely unknown, is the introduction in this section to terms that are either theoretical or practical in translation. The first concept, 'translation-relevant', means a change of perspective, a greater focus on all those analyses that are necessary to better understand a text and which we now use to see the same text through the eyes of the person who will translate it. We call this change of perspective: Translation-relevant analysis. The second term is already an acquaintance that we sought to discover in order to see what the text is for and where it is going: the text function. So far, the latter was almost at the end of our detailed analysis, but now we turn the perspective around: we take the function as the starting point for planning our translation, one that does justice to the function we have identified, a functional translation - in other words, we start from what we already know to what we are probably still largely unaware of, namely the details of our still-to-be-translated procedure

Bisweilen neu, aber keineswegs unbekannt, ist in diesem Teil die Einführung in übersetzungstheoretische oder -praxisorientierte Termini. Der erste, ‚übersetzungsrelevant', meint einen Blickwechsel, eine stärkere Fokussierung all jener Analysen, um einen Text besser zu begreifen und die wir nun dazu benutzen, denselben Text mit den Augen desjenigen zu sehen, der ihn übersetzen wird.
