Abstract:
This document includes a series of formative learning and assessment materials developed for the British theatre courses within the English Studies degree at the University of Barcelona, that is, 'Shakespeare's Tragedies' (core compulsory), 'Contemporary Theatre in English' (core compulsory) and 'Shakespeare and Film' (optional). The materials comprise course contracts, course rubrics, kick-off questionnaires, self-assessment questionnaires for the different writing tasks (response paragraphs and written assignments), and final self-assessment questionnaires. These materials have been designed as part of the teaching innovation project 'Avaluació formativa a les assignatures de l'àrea de Teatre Britànic del Grau d'Estudis Anglesos' ('Formative Learning and Assessment in the British Theatre area within the English Studies Degree'; 2011PID-UB/38 and 2012PID-UB/123), coordinated by Mireia Aragay. Both projects form part of the teaching innovation group 'IDEA-Innovació Docent en l'Expressió en Anglès' ('Teaching Innovation in Expression in English'; GIDUB-11/IDA), coordinated by William Charles Phillips. It is hoped that the materials may be found of use by university teachers and students in other fields within the Humanities.
